PNG, SVG or PDF: Pick Your QR Print Export
Choose the file type based on the next step in your design workflow. A file that opens a PDF is a destination; exporting your QR as PDF produces the artwork. Those choices are separate.
PNG for a fixed image
PNG exports offer 1024, 2048 and 4096 pixels on the longest side. Use a generous resolution when placing a card or sign into another layout, and avoid enlarging a small bitmap until its edges blur. A screenshot of the preview is not a replacement for an export.
SVG for scalable QR modules
SVG keeps the QR modules and template shapes as vectors. It suits a layout that needs scaling in a design editor. Preserve the proportions and the white quiet zone when importing it. An embedded logo or portrait still has its own bitmap resolution.
PDF for this template's physical size
A template PDF uses the print width and height shown in the editor. It embeds high-resolution raster artwork and is not a fully vector PDF. Print at the intended physical size and inspect a proof; a printer's Fit to page setting may change the result.
Use the print planner to estimate how many template rectangles fit on A4 or Letter paper. It accounts for margins, spacing and orientation, but does not arrange a multi-card PDF or add printer bleed and crop marks.
The export test finishes the design
Scan the actual downloaded file, then a final-size print under expected lighting. Check the destination as well as recognition. Keep a readable address, number or instruction on the card when useful. A pass in one scanner does not guarantee every camera or viewing distance.
